General Information

Sabre’s Electronic Trading Unit is responsible for the development, testing and maintenance of new and existing Sabre products that are distributed to software houses. These responsibilities include:

• Activation and maintenance of software house facilities for new and existing agents.
• Premium and terms testing of all software house systems.
• Liaison with all software houses.

Submission of Business

Please use your EDI capability whenever possible. Unless an unavoidable situation arises such as a power failure Sabre will not accept manual business from Agents with Full Cycle EDI capability.

Frequency of Transmission

All new business, mid term adjustments, cancellations, renewals and lapses MUST BE TRANSMITTED DAILY as Insurers need to adhere to strict timescales for data transmission in order to comply with MIIC requirements.

Documentation

All new business proposal forms, copies of original quotations, cover notes, if issued, NCD proof, copy driving licences and any other relevant documentation must be retained for audit purposes for a minimum of two years after a policy has been cancelled/lapsed. The use of optical disk or other storage media is usually acceptable but prior agreement must be sought before any documentation is destroyed.

All documentation must be readily available for inspection at any time.
